OSCE supports roundtable discussion on migration policy in Kazakhstan
An OSCE-supported roundtable discussion on Kazakhstan’s recently adopted 2017–2021 Migration Policy Concept Paper, which relates to regulating external, internal, and ethnic migration in the country, took place on 3 November 2017 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Some 40 representatives of central and regional migration and internal affairs government bodies, business associations and civil society organizations participated in the one-day event, which was organized in partnership with the Committee of Labour, Social Protection and Migration under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
Participants paid special attention to labour admission policies and identified measures to improve migration administration in line with best international practices.
The event is part of the OSCE Programme Office in Astana’s activities to promote good governance in labour migration through capacity building and sharing of best practices.
