OSCE PA President Muttonen condemns London mosque attack, offers condolences
COPENHAGEN, 19 June 2017 – Responding to a vehicle attack on a group of Muslim worshippers as they left a London mosque last night – killing one person and injuring ten others – OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President Christine Muttonen (MP, Austria) said the incident underlines that violent extremism knows no race, religion or ethnicity, and must be condemned in all its forms.
“I condemn the London mosque attack last night in the strongest possible terms and offer my sincere condolences to the victim’s family and the people of the United Kingdom. An attack targeting Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan is particularly appalling, and like all terrorist attacks, totally unjustifiable,” President Muttonen said.
“The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly stands ready to work with partners in addressing extremist violence in all its forms,” she added.
