International Law Summer Academy - 2024

The OSCE Secretariat Extra-budgetary Support Programme for Ukraine and the Supreme Court with the support of National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine and All-Ukrainian Association of International Law issue a call for application for students and postgraduates from Ukrainian universities and think-tanks wishing to participate in the Second International Law Summer Academy.
This year the Academy will be dedicated to the crucial issues of international litigation, interaction between international and national law, international humanitarian law and legal aspects of the processes related to Ukraine’s EU accession.
The event will provide an opportunity for up to 30 students and post-graduate students to review in details topical issues of international law, alignment of national laws with the EU acquis, international criminal justice, the protection of human rights, resilience of Ukraine’s legal system in times of war.
Prominent experts in international law, European law, legal theory and philosophy will be invited to deliver lectures and presentations as part of the Academy, including judges of the Supreme Court, European Court of Human Rights, experts of international organisations, prominent local and international scholars and legal practitioners.
The Academy’s participants will enhance their theoretical and practical knowledge and skills on the problematic aspects of international law, ideas and concepts of the current international law, processes of adaptation of Ukrainian legal system to the EU acquis, law enforcement practice as well as challenges in these spheres.
Application for the Academy is open for students of law, but also those studying other humanities, such as international relations, political sciences, sociology, philosophy, and others. The deadline for application is extended to 16 July 2024, by 23:59 Kyiv time.

Please note! Due to the war against Ukraine and the resulting security situation, the indicated dates of the Academy are preliminary; the OSCE Support Programme may shift the event to a later date. All the selected participants will be timely notified of any changes.
