During the event the Humanitarian De-mining Company of Tajikistan’s defence ministry, which has been engaged in humanitarian demining operations, presented a photo exhibition and displayed equipment used in their operations. The OSCE Office in Tajikistan announced the donation of humanitarian demining equipment to the ministry, including 14 personal protective equipment sets, 11 metal detectors, and communication equipment.
Ambassador Tuula Yrjölä, Head of the OSCE Office in Tajikistan, said: “The International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action is a global reminder of the lethal danger posed by unexploded ordnance, landmines and other explosive hazards which threaten human lives and local communities indiscriminately across the globe.”
