Engaging the Ukrainian Diaspora in Reconstruction and Development

An online launch of the ODIHR report on efforts to engage the Ukrainian diaspora in reconstruction and development in the aftermath of the 2022 military attack by the Russian Federation will take place on 12 December 2023. The report gathers preliminary information on Ukrainian diaspora engagement and contributions and outlines areas for potential future development. Drawing on consultations with experts, civil society and diaspora representatives, the report puts the case of Ukrainian diaspora mobilization into a wider context of diaspora engagement globally and includes recommendations on facilitating the Ukrainian diaspora’s contributions and involvement in line with democratic principles and human rights.
