New Technologies in border management and human rights

States are increasingly using technologies to help them manage their borders by collecting data of individuals prior to their travel, or at borders.  While they have the right to control who enters their territory, there are many risks that such technologies may bring. Those most affected are refugees. ODIHR works with countries across the OSCE region to assist them in ensuring that human rights are integrated into their migration management policies.
