The event will bring together a variety of actors working in the field of migrant integration at the local level in Poland. The participants will include representatives of local authorities, civil society organizations and academic institutions from 11 municipalities across the country.
The aim of the workshop is to map out the local integration initiatives, identify gaps and propose collaborative activities to address them. Speakers will include Adam Bodnar, the Polish Commissioner for Human Rights, a former vice mayor of Athens and a representative of the Canadian Embassy in Poland. They will share experiences from both a political perspective and a practitioner’s point of view. The desired outcome is to build partnerships and identify ways in which ODIHR can further support local authorities across Poland in the area of migrant integration.
The workshop follows the publication by ODIHR of the Local Authorities’ Migrant Integration Guide earlier this year.
