To support young women’s early careers in the renewable energy sector, the OSCE is proud to announce the second edition of the fully-funded scholarship for the Master’s programme in Strategic Management of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. The scholarship will support female applicants from Central Asia, Afghanistan, and Mongolia to pursue a Master’s Degree at the Kazakh-German University (DKU).
This programme aims to equip students with the necessary skills for starting a career in the renewable energy sector. Notably, this programme will help them acquire the expertise to establish and manage renewable energy facilities, and handle clean energy technologies, including energy conservation and efficiency.
Applications are open to young women with backgrounds in engineering, thermal power, technology, environmental sciences, economics and management. The programme also welcomes junior female employees from renewable energy companies and government organizations dedicated to promoting green energy technologies.
Successful candidates will benefit from financial assistance, comprehensive training and networking opportunities. Participation in a renewable energy facility trip is also included in the programme. The OSCE, through the Kazakh-German University, will cover the tuition fee, travel expenses, accommodation, monthly stipends, and other associated costs for the selected participants throughout the Master’s programme.
Application deadline: 1 July 2024
Kazakhstani citizens must register for the comprehensive examination by 15 July to apply for the Scholarship.
Application process
Eligible candidates will be invited for a written test and interview. More information regarding the programme, the list of required documents and the application procedure is available here.

The scholarship programme is organized within the framework of the OSCE Project on Promoting women’s economic participation in the energy sector for energy security and sustainability in Central Asia, supported by the governments of Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, and Poland.
