OSCE Mission to Skopje supports training on decentralization in education
SKOPJE, 21 March 2007 - Educating trainers who in turn will teach parents and teachers about their rights and responsibilities in the decentralized education system is the purpose of a series of workshops, the first of which concluded today.
"The project aims to contribute to a more efficient implementation of decentralization in the education field," said Alenka Verbole, Education Development Coordinator within the OSCE Mission to Skopje. "It targets marginalized groups, particularly parents and teachers."
As a result of the eight-month project, 300 parents and teachers will learn about decentralization in education.
Lulzim Mehmedi, a workshop leader, added: "I am looking forward to working in rural areas where knowledge about rights and responsibilities in the decentralized education system is most needed."
