Alena Kupchyna
Ambassador Alena Kupchyna is the OSCE Co-ordinator of Activities to Address Transnational Threats, assisting participating States in the implementation of OSCE commitments in the areas of, countering and preventing terrorism and violent extremism; Cyber/ICT security; border management and security; strategic police matters and countering organized crime.
Prior, Dr. Kupchyna was Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Austria and Slovenia as well as Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna and to the OSCE.
In her 28-year long diplomatic career, Alena was Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus. She served as Ambassador of Belarus to Hungary and Slovenia. She was Director of the Department for Humanitarian Cooperation and Human Rights, Deputy Permanent Representative of Belarus to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva and Deputy Director of the Legal Department.
Alena was a Research Fellow at the Institute of Philosophy and Law at the Belarusian Academy of Sciences. She graduated from the Belarusian State University with distinction, followed by post-graduate studies in law (Belarusian Academy of Sciences).
