“Personal rights to liberty and security and ECHR Detention Case-Law”: new publication presented by OSCE Mission to Montenegro
On 21 October 2013 the OSCE Mission to Montenegro presented a publication “Personal rights to liberty and security and ECHR Detention Case-Law” written by Zoran Pazin, State Agent of Montenegro before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasburg.
The publication will serve as a tool for the judiciary of Montenegro to resolve specific contentious issues in the context of legal and permitted deprivation of liberty. It was developed as a follow-up to the thematic report “Frequency and justification of ordering the detention” launched by the OSCE Mission earlier this year.
The event brought together representatives of Montenegrin judiciary, officials of the Justice Ministry, Bar Association of Montenegro, international organizations, civil society and diplomatic community.
The publication was prepared under the Court Monitoring Project Phase III carried out by the OSCE with the financial support of the Embassy of Luxembourg and US Embassy in Podgorica.
