OSCE Mission to Moldova helps former military officers in transition to civilian life
This week 77 Moldovan former military officers completed courses in Chisinau, Cahul and Ungheni designed to help former members of the National Army, the Carabinieri and the Border Guard Service make the transition to civilian life. The courses are part of a project by the OSCE Mission to Moldova.
The project started last year in Chisinau. The second phase, which began in March 2011, expanded coverage to Cahul and Ungheni to make it easier for students from those areas to attend the courses.
A new round of training courses will start this autumn and the project will continue until 2013. More than 150 former officers have so far benefited from the project.
The courses and the graduation ceremonies were held jointly by the Moldovan Chamber of Commerce and the Centre for Economic Development and Public Affairs of the Academy of Economic Studies.
