OSCE launches trial monitoring report in Moldova
CHISINAU, 18 April 2007 - The OSCE Mission to Moldova in co-operation with the Superior Council of Magistrates will launch the first report of the OSCE Trial Monitoring Programme for the Republic of Moldova tomorrow.
The report "Preliminary Findings on the Experience of Going to Court in Moldova" summarizes the preliminary findings of the first six months of trial observation in all district and appellate courts within the Chisinau Municipality. This first report is based on the monitoring of almost 800 court cases between April and November 2006.
The Trial Monitoring Programme was launched by the OSCE Mission to Moldova and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights on 21 March 2006.
Journalists are invited to follow the launch event which will take place at the Superior Council of Magistrates (str. M. Kogãlniceanu 70) on 19 April 2007 at 13:00. Copies of the report in English and Romanian will be distributed during the event.
