Health services and medical insurance discussed at OSCE Mission to Moldova’s fourth Human Rights Club
The OSCE Mission to Moldova organized its fourth and final event in a year-long series of Human Rights Clubs for lawyers from both banks of the Dniester/Nistru River, on 25 November 2016, in Chisinau. The event brought together 46 participants, who discussed ways to better assist clients in accessing health services and medical insurance.
Particular attention was paid to medical insurance issues and how lawyers can work with their clients in order to access needed insurance policies. During the event, legal practitioners received practical advice on how to provide effective legal assistance to reinstate violated or limited rights of patients.
“Human Rights Clubs offer a professional platform for discussion on emerging problems in the field of human rights protection,” said Iuliana Abramova, expert of the Human Rights Club. “Today, we outlined a number of problems related to the ‘right to health’ which were vividly discussed by the participants.”
This event is part of a project that facilitates the exchange of experience among lawyers from both banks of the Dniester/Nistru River. The events alternated between Chisinau and Tiraspol. Previous meetings of the Human Rights Club focused on a wide range of topics, including use of forensic expertise, execution of court decisions and securing civil documents for individuals. The Human Rights Club series will continue in 2017.
