Art competition and exhibition on gender equality organized by the OSCE Mission to Moldova
For the competition, young people were invited to create and submit artworks in various techniques – including collages, posters and computer graphics – on the topic of gender equality, gender-based violence, the associated risks and possible prevention measures. The aim of the art competition and exhibition was to foster personal reflection among young men and women with regard to gender equality.
During the campaign, the OSCE Mission supported activities aimed at raising awareness among youth about the dangers of family violence. Apart the art exhibition, the Mission also supported the production of visibility materials, including T-shirts and caps with the 16 Days Campaign slogan, which were distributed widely during campaign events. The Mission has also supported a number of public lectures and workshops for students from education institutions in Balti, Cahul and Comrat, on identifying and working with victims of domestic violence.
25 November marks International Day to End Violence against Women, and is also the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign, which runs until Human Rights Day on 10 December.
