International election observers in Moldova to hold press conference on Monday
CHISINAU, 1 December 2014 – The international observers monitoring the 30 November parliamentary elections in Moldova will present their preliminary post-election statement at a press conference on Monday, 1 December 2014, in Chisinau.
The international observation mission is a common endeavour involving the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA), the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and the European Parliament (EP).
The statement will be delivered by Emin Onen, Special Co-ordinator and leader of the short-term OSCE observer mission, followed by Jean-Claude Mignon, Head of the PACE delegation, Arta Dade, Head of the OSCE PA delegation, Igor Šoltes, Head of the EP delegation, and Ambassador Jan Petersen, Head of the OSCE/ODIHR long-term election observation mission.
The international election observation mission comprises almost 420 observers from 43 countries, including more than 300 long-term and short-term observers deployed by the OSCE/ODIHR, 66 parliamentarians and staff from the OSCE PA, 31 from PACE and 13 from the EP.
Journalists are invited to attend the press conference on Monday, 1 December, at 15:00 in the Main Foyer of the Leogrand Hotel and Convention Centre, 77 Mitropolit Varlaam Street, Chisinau.
