Work of courts during the COVID - 19 epidemic – analysis and recommendations

The Mission supported production of the analysis to understand how the courts in Serbia were affected by the pandemics and the measures imposed by the Government in Serbia. The study deals with the period since the introduction of the state of emergency and extends beyond it, to cover the period until September 2020. It analyses the way the courts were influenced by the decisions of the executive, how the courts managed the organizational challenges and how the access to justice of citizens was affected. It also gives recommendations on how to improve the response of judiciary in emergency situations such as the epidemic, in order to minimize their effect on the the functioning of this branch of power. The publication is available in Serbian language.
