OSCE Mission to Montenegro provides technical assistance to State Election Commission in detailing their work plan for 2018
The OSCE Mission to Montenegro, in co-operation with the State Election Commission, gathered some 35 members from the State and Municipal Election Commissions for a workshop in Podgorica on 14 and 15 December to review this year’s activities and develop a draft work plan for next year.
The workshop provided a forum for the State Election Commission to identify its objectives for the forthcoming electoral cycles, prioritize key activities and tasks, and assign responsibilities to various electoral management bodies. The outcome of the workshop was the State Election Commission’s first-ever detailed draft work plan for the coming year.
This event is part of the Mission’s project on providing technical assistance to the country’s State Election Commission and was organized within the framework of a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Commission on 5 May 2016. This agreement outlined the Mission’s support in developing the Commission in line with international best practices to strengthen their capacities to administer elections.
