OSCE Mission to Montenegro trains state administration employees on anti-discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity
The sixth training course of the seventh cycle on anti-discrimination was organized for 25 employees of the state administration by Montenegro’s Ministry for Human and Minority Rights in co-operation with the OSCE Mission to Montenegro on 27 and 28 November 2017 in Bečići. This training course dealt with preventing discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
It covered the mechanisms of protection and the legal framework regarding the rights of this vulnerable group. The course aimed to sensitize state administration employees about the issues faced by citizens of different sexual orientation.
Representatives of international and local NGOs also presented European and national strategies for combating discrimination against persons with different sexual orientation.
All the participants that attended at least five out of six training courses from this year cycles received the certificate of attendance. This year cycle covered the topics of general aspects, gender related, persons with disabilities, rascal and ethic affiliation, sexual orientation and health condition.
The training course was part of the Mission’s project on supporting human rights in Montenegro.
