OSCE Mission trains students of Prishtinë/Priština University on property rights
From 26 to 30 November 2018, the OSCE Mission in Kosovo delivered training course on international standards and the Kosovo legal framework on protection of property rights to 145 law students of Prishtinë/Priština University.
The students learned about the concepts of expropriation, property tax, illegal occupation, social housing, spatial planning and land allocation. They were also familiarized with the roles and responsibilities of the institutions working in these fields.
“The workshop was useful for our students as it complements the theoretical part they study at the university with practical knowledge from the OSCE’s expertise,” said Haxhi Gashi, Dean of the Law Faculty.
Following the training, the students are expected to better understand the functioning of institutions dealing with property rights, as well as international standards and legislation protecting the property rights of all communities.
The OSCE Mission plans to continue supporting young lawyers through training in 2019.
