OSCE Mission in Kosovo engages men to promote gender equality
PRISHTINË/PRIŠTINA, 15 May 2017 – The OSCE Mission in Kosovo will hold a two-day roundtable discussion on gender equality and the importance of engaging men to promote it, starting tomorrow in Prevallë/Prevalac, in the municipality of Prizren.
Regional police directors and station commanders together with representatives of the Kosovo Police Women Association and the Forum of Women Judges and Prosecutors will reassess the current gender roles in Kosovo, discuss gender stereotypes and norms and what men and women can do to overcome inequality. They will also develop a set of recommendations for future work on gender equality within the Kosovo Police.
Ambassador Jan Braathu, Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Shpend Maxhuni, General Director of the Police, and Taibe Canolli of the Association of Women in Kosovo Police will deliver opening remarks.
