OSCE Mission in Kosovo organizes a conference on safety of journalists
Prishtinë/Priština, 13 February 2017 – The OSCE Mission in Kosovo will host tomorrow a conference on the safety of journalists, with participants from South Eastern Europe.
Representatives of journalist associations, media and civil society will examine the progress made in investigating the cases of murdered and missing journalists, threats to female journalists reporting online and regional initiatives on the protection of journalists.
In addition, a campaign on the safety of journalists will be launched at the conference.
Conclusions and recommendations will be shared with relevant stakeholders and presented at a high-level conference on Freedom of the Media in the Western Balkans to be held on 27 February in Vienna.
OSCE Head of Mission Jan Braathu will deliver opening remarks, in addition to President Hashim Thaçi, Austrian Ambassador Gernot Pfandler, EU Special Representative Nataliya Apostolova, and Head of EULEX Alexandra Papadopoulou.
Media representatives are cordially invited to attend the event on Tuesday, 14 February 2017, at Swiss Diamond Hotel in Prishtinë/Priština, starting from 09:30 hrs.
