OSCE Office supports discussion on investment climate in Belarus
MINSK, 14 November 2008 - Investment opportunities in Belarus are being discussed at a special session of a Forum in Minsk today, sponsored by the OSCE Office.
The event is part of the XI Minsk Forum, "Neighbourhood and Security: Perspectives for Belarus in Europe", taking place in the Belarusian capital from 13 to 15 November. It was organized by the German-Belarusian Society and the German Institute for International and Security Affairs, and supported by the German Embassy
"The Minsk Forum has been held annually for the last 10 years and has proved to be a good platform for German and Belarusian foundations to exchange views at a time when Belarus is looking for diversification of investments and ways to develop a more favourable climate to attract them," said Ambassador Hans-Jochen Schmidt, the Head of the OSCE Office in Minsk.
"I believe this is a timely event which will help discuss the opportunities for investments in the country."
The event brought together representatives of government and private institutions, researchers and diplomats.
