OSCE Minsk Office helps discuss international standards for dealing with cybercrime
MINSK, 12 November 2008 - Dealing with cases of cybercrime in Belarus and international standards in the field are the focus of a conference, organized by the OSCE Office in Minsk today.
The event brought together representatives of the Belarus legislative branch, the judiciary and experts from the Council of Europe and the OSCE.
"This conference will help discuss the standards promoted by the Council of Europe on cybercrime, which are important in respect to the commitments taken by Belarus as one of the 56 OSCE participating States," said Ambassador Hans-Jochen Schmidt, the Head of the OSCE Office in Minsk.
"Our Office has been promoting the fulfilment of United Nations conventions on corruption and money laundering and we are ready to work with our Belarusian institutional partners to help them tackle cybercrime cases."
