The OSCE Mission in Kosovo in co-operation with the Kosovo Centre for Public Safety, Education and Development (KCPSED) and the NGO Parents Organization of Children with Disabilities in Kosovo (OPFAKOS) will organize a “Mini Olympic Games” for children with disabilities in Vushtrri/Vučitrn.
The “Mini Olympics” will be used to promote the integration of children with special needs, raise public awareness about their abilities, and increase trust and cooperation between them and the public safety providers.
Approximately 450 children, their parents and young people from different local communities will participate in the two-day event. The “Mini Olympics” will include a wheelchair race, picado and handball, as well as chess competitions.
Children with special needs are one of the most disadvantaged groups in Kosovo today and their social inclusion requires stronger support by all relevant institutions including Kosovo police and other public safety agencies.
The OSCE Mission supports social inclusion of all disadvantaged groups in Kosovo including women, children and different communities where they constitute minorities.
