OSCE organizes election quiz show in Kosovo

PRISTINA, 14 November 2001 (OSCE) - The OSCE Mission in Kosovo has organized an election quiz show broadcast on Kosovo's public broadcaster, Radio-Television Kosovo (RTK). The show, which runs under the title "E gjeta", or "I've Got It", is now, three days before the general election on 17 November, going into its semi-final rounds.
The eight teams and 16 candidates, 18 to 25 year old and competing since last Saturday, have come now down to four teams, and are ready to answer questions about democracy and good governance, which include for instance:
On the night before election day, the winning team will each receive a computer; the runners-up will win a television and DVD-player.
The OSCE Mission in Kosovo established the show, with funding from the European Agency for Reconstruction, to promote knowledge about the election and about issues related to democracy. In addition to organizing the election, the OSCE Mission is mandated to assist Kosovo's democratic development.
Radio-Television Kosovo, which was established with the assistance of the OSCE and produced the election quiz, broadcasts the show every evening at 18:40.

- How do you vote if you do not live in Kosovo?
- How will the votes be counted?
- Who will certify the election results?
- What happens if your polling station runs out of ballots?
