OSCE welcomes release of two British mission members
PRISTINA 6 October 2000
PRISTINA, 6 October 2000 - The OSCE Mission in Kosovo has welcomed the reported decision by the new authorities in Belgrade to release two British police officers who have been detained in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia for the past two months.
We look forward to seeing Sergeant Adrian Prangnell and Constable John Yore, both of whom had been working for the OSCE-run Kosovo Police Service School in Vushtrri / Vucitrn, reunited with their families and friends as soon as possible.
The OSCE also calls for the speedy release of the two Canadian nationals who were detained with them in early August.
Several hundred Kosovars, however, remain in detention in FRY. Following today's positive development, the OSCE hopes that they too will be released in the near future.
