PRISTINA 18 September 2000
PRISTINA, 18 September 2000 - The Institute for Civil Administration in Kosovo will award diplomas to the first 30 participants of the Medium-Term Training Programme for Senior Municipal Staff on Wednesday, 20 September. The occasion will also celebrate the official opening of the Institute's building in Urosevac/Ferizaj.
The participants of this course have been trained on subjects such as law, economy, public finance, human resources management and conflict resolution. It is one of two 20-day pilot courses, the other taking place in Zvecan with 18 candidates.
The celebration will be held on Wednesday, 20 September, at the Institute building in Urosevac/Ferizaj. OSCE Ambassador Daan Everts will be awarding the diplomas to graduates. Remarks will be given by Wolfgang Rusch, Principal of the Institute; Tom Koenigs, Head of UNMIK Pillar II, and Hajdin Abazi, Mayor of Urosevac/Ferizaj.
The wider objective of the Civil Administration Support Section within the OSCE Mission in Kosovo Democratization Department is to strengthen local government structures in Kosovo.
