OSCE facilitated preparatory technical working group meeting on durable solutions for displaced persons from Kosovo

PRISHTINË/PRIŠTINA, 15 July 2015 - The preparatory technical working group meeting on durable solutions for displaced persons, organized by the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, supported by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), concluded in a positive spirit in Prishtinë/Priština today.

Participants from Belgrade, Podgorica, Prishtinë/Priština and Skopje reviewed the UNHCR-conducted mapping on the needs of displaced persons from Kosovo, and a concept note document, and agreed to continue the process. They agreed to hold the next technical working group meeting in early September 2015, and envisaged this will be followed by a high-level conference.

The technical working group meeting represents continuation of the process initiated at the OSCE high-level conference held in Skopje in November 2014. It aims to support durable solutions for displaced persons from Kosovo, including return or integration in their current place of displacement.

This meeting gave participating stakeholders the opportunity to express their stances and ideas on how to develop the process further for the benefit of all those affected.
