OSCE Mission in Kosovo condemns violent protests
PRISHTINË/PRIŠTINA 27 January 2015
PRISHTINË/PRIŠTINA, 27 January 2015 – The Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Ambassador Jean-Claude Schlumberger, has strongly condemned the violence that erupted today during the opposition protests which left dozens of police officers and protesters injured.
“I am disturbed by the events we saw today,” said Schlumberger. “People have the right to protest, but they should express their grievances peacefully. Violence is not the answer.”
“All parties should act responsibly and resort to political dialogue as the only way forward,” he added.
The OSCE Mission in Kosovo will continue monitoring the situation closely and it stands ready to contribute to efforts aimed at defusing the tension.
