Towards Good Governance and Social Integration
The report Towards Good Governance and Social Integration gathers key publications, documents and thinking on the common and persistent challenge of integrating diversity within pluralistic societies. It aims to support states’ efforts to meet this challenge in terms of concrete and sustainable policy and its effective implementation. It includes the previously unpublished proceedings of the first intergovernmental conference on this theme – “Governance and Participation: Integrating Diversity” – held in October 1998 in Locarno, Italy. Within a year, this led to the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities’ Lund Recommendations on the Effective Participation of National Minorities in Public Life in September 1999 and the Warsaw Guidelines to Assist National Minority Participation in the Electoral Process in March 2001.
