SEVEN is the acclaimed documentary play that celebrates women's empowerment. It relates real personal experiences of seven women from around the world that extend from domestic violence and human trafficking to poverty and a lack of education. All prevailed, despite the challenges they faced, creating a story of hope and change.
At the OSCE their stories will be told by a group of male ambassadors and military advisers, all members of the OSCE MenEngage Network, including the current Italian and Slovenian Chairpersons of the OSCE Permanent Council and the Forum for Security Co-operation, as well as the Director of the OSCE Conflict Prevention Centre.
The first-ever staging of the play at the OSCE will be used to highlight the importance of women's rights and to emphasize the key role that men have in promoting gender equality. Timed to coincide with the first day of this year's Annual Security Review Conference, the performance will also emphasize the need to promote the role of women in peace and security processes.
