OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media condemns attack on Lenta.ru offices in Moscow

VIENNA, 29 September 2017 – OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Harlem Désir today condemned the fire bombing of the Moscow offices and threats against the Russian news website Lenta.ru.
According to reports, two unidentified people entered the business centre that houses the editorial offices, vandalised them and threw a Molotov cocktail through a window. The fire was quickly extinguished.
“I condemn this attack and welcome the swift launch of an investigation, calling for prosecution of those involved,” Désir said. “All attacks against the media must be fully investigated in order prevent an atmosphere of impunity.”
