OSCE media freedom representative condemns assault on media member in Serbia
VIENNA, 5 January 2017 – OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunja Mijatović today condemned the assault in Belgrade on Nihad Ibrahimkadić of the Anadolu Agency.
“While it is unclear at this point if the incident is related to his professional work, I trust the authorities will thoroughly investigate this heinous attack and bring the perpetrators to justice,” Mijatović said. ”Attacks on media simply cannot be tolerated.”
Ibrahimkadić, a camera operator with the news agency, sustained serious injuries when he was attacked from behind early on 5 January near a railway station in Belgrade. He is being treated in the hospital.
