Begaim Usenova

Begaim Usenova is Director of the PF Media Policy Institute (MPI) and an expert on media policy with over a decade of professional experience in the field. Her experiences include the development and management of nation-wide media campaigns to raise public awareness on the protection of journalists’ rights and media reform. She has played an integral role on media reform in her country and conducted a number of trainings on media-related issues. From 2007-2009 she was in charge of the country’s largest news agency, IA AKIpress. She has also served as a member of the Initiative Working Group tasked with the development of a concept for media-related youth policy as well as the Advisory Board for the Center for Media Support, the Supervisory Board for The Kyrgyz Republic’s first public television station and the Working Group on the development of the Kyrgyz State Program to transition to digital broadcasting.
