The OSCE’s Forum for Security Co-operation will organise a High-Level Military Doctrine Seminar in Vienna, on 24-25 May this year. Meeting participants will examine changes that have occurred in the past five years in military technology and military doctrines and their implications for security in the OSCE area. The changing nature of conflicts, new threats and challenges, and technological advancements are also on the agenda. Chiefs of Defence and Chiefs of Staff from the OSCE participating States and the Partners for Co-operation have been invited to the seminar, which is expected to bring together around 400 senior officials.
The seminar is organized every five years in accordance with the Vienna Document 1999, which is a main OSCE confidence- and security-building measure. It contains provisions on the exchange of military information, verification and other forms of military co-operation.
