Memet Zhaku
Memet Zhaku is a member of the Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia responsible for organizing the activities of the Minister, for human resources and the organizational affairs of the Ministry. In addition to this current position, he also performs the role of National Coordinator for Youth, where he actively participates in projects related to the role and position of young people in the country, as well as the challenges in the treatment of youth policies in North Macedonia in the context of the EU accession process.
In this role, he is also a member of many working groups, among which are: the Prespa Forum for Dialogue; Strategic Dialogue; Diplomatic Academy; Diplomatic Protocol, as well as the OSCE Chairpersonship Task Force and the working group for organizing the OSCE - MS30.
In the period from 2014 to 2017, he held the position of Chief of the Cabinet of the Deputy Secretary General of the Government of North Macedonia, while from 2017 to 2020 he was part of the Cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs, where, among other things, he led the public relations department.
His professional engagements notably include participations in: the EU Scheme for Young Professionals in the Western Balkans 2017-2018, member of the Delegation of North Macedonia at the NATO Summit in 2018; member of the Official Delegation in Prespa at the ceremony of signing the Name Agreement with Greece 2018; participant in the Future Leaders Programs organized by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of France; 7th Political Academy by Friedrich Edbert Stiftung; Public Debate organized by Youth Educational Forum 2010; Simulation of European Parliament 2013; Turkish Olympiad 2008; Simulation in a Civil trial at Law School 2013.
He graduated from the South East European University in Tetovo in 2013, Law Faculty, while he obtained Master degree at the "Justinian l" St. Cyril and Methodius, Criminal Law in 2015.
Mandate
The CiO Special Representative for Youth advises the Chairman-in-Office to meaningfully integrate youth perspectives into all three dimensions of its work. The Special Representative for Youth enhances youth participation and youth mainstreaming in OSCE activities.
