OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Alfano and Secretary General Greminger condemn terrorist attacks in southern France
ROME / VIENNA, 23 March 2018 – OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Italy’s Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano and OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger condemned today’s terrorist attacks in Carcassonne and Trèbes, France. They offered their heartfelt condolences to the families of victims and wished swift recovery to those wounded.
“I condemn in the strongest possible terms this heinous attack on innocent persons as an attempt to undermine the security of their daily lives,” said Alfano. “We renew the full support as Chairmanship-in-Office to France for this horrible act, and assure to further strengthen international co-operation within the OSCE to counter all forms of violent extremism and terrorism.”
Secretary General Greminger said: “My condolences and sympathy go to all victims of the terror attacks in Carcassonne and Trèbes. Terrorism on any scale, anywhere, will not be tolerated. We stand united with France in in countering hatred, violent extremism and terrorism.”
