OSCE Centre supports entrepreneurship in southern Kyrgyzstan
OSH, Kyrgyzstan, 10 November - Over 20 participants from local business associations, non-governmental organizations (NGO) and government structures will participate in an intensive ten-day training seminar on entrepreneurship, beginning today in the southern city of Osh, Kyrgyzstan.
The seminar, organized by the OSCE Centre in Bishkek in co-operation with the Kyrgyz Labour and Social Protection Ministry and the local NGO 'Public Foundation for small business development and employment' is based on entrepreneurship methodologies created by the International Labour Organization.
"Tackling poverty and unemployment with practical solutions is one of the OSCE's priorities in Kyrgyzstan", said Jerome Bouyju, Head of the OSCE Osh Field Office.
"This special course will help to increase local capacities in implementing joint programmes. It is particularly crucial for those who want to start their own small business", he added.
The training aims at building the capacity of local communities and the government sector involved in implementing the Ministry's 2006 programme to educate socially-vulnerable groups for employment.
Similar courses will be conducted in all regions later this year.
