OSCE conducts two-week training for instructors of Kyrgyz anti-terrorism agencies
A two-week training course for anti-terrorism instructors from Kyrgyzstan concluded on 6 June 2014 in Bishkek.
Two experts from the Turkish National Police trained 13 anti-terrorism instructors from the Bakaev Institute of the State Committee of National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Anti-Terrorism Centre of the State Committee on National Security as well as the Ministry of Interior and National Guard.
The training course aimed at improving the training skills and knowledge of the instructors, who will teach and train experts on countering extremism and terrorism in Kyrgyzstan.
It was organised as part of an agreement on joint training activities for 2014-2015 signed in January 2014 by the Anti-terrorism Centre under the State Committee of National Security of Kyrgyzstan, the OSCE Centre in Bishkek and the Turkish National Police.
“This first training builds upon the ongoing collaboration between the OSCE Centre in Bishkek and Turkish National Police on assisting Kyrgyzstan in its anti-terrorism efforts,” said Maciej Dachowski, Acting Head of Politico-Military Department of the OSCE Centre in Bishkek. He noted that a one-week study visit for 12 representatives of Kyrgyzstan’s security agencies to Turkey was previously organized.
The training course took place in the premises of the Bakaev Institute.
