Multi-talented winners in OSCE's Bosnia and Herzegovina youth contest

SARAJEVO, 10 December 2001 - Four aspiring young artists received yesterday the first prizes in the OSCE's Youth contest, My World - My Bosnia and Herzegovina. The prizes were awarded at a ceremony held at the National Theatre in Sarajevo.
Goran Lizdek, a student of Sarajevo Art Academy, was nominated in three categories, for the best photograph, best comic and best song. He won the first prize, a digital camera, for the best photograph and the second and third prize for the comic and song. Igor Vincic from Banja Luka won a computer, the first prize for the best essay, while Dragan Jovic and Danijela Milosevic won the second and the third prizes.
Vanesa Prodanovic from Sarajevo won the prize for the best comic, a trip to the international
comic fair in France, while Goran Lizdek and Dejan Slavuljica won the second and the third prize. A band of young musicians from Velika Kladusa, The Anarchy, won the first prize for the best song - professional music production of the winning song - titled "I Want a Better World". The second prize was awarded to a Sarajevo band called Trag, while the third prize was awarded to - Goran Lizdek again, a multitalented discovery of OSCE's youth contest.
The award ceremony was moderated by Kenan Cerimagic from TV Hayat and Jasenka Pralija from FTV. The popular rock-band from Sarajevo, Erogene Zone, entertained the audience.
Prior to the award ceremony Ambassador Robert Beecroft, head of OSCE mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, opened an exhibition of all the contest contributions. Guests at the exhibition had the opportunity to vote for their favorites, attend presentations of Bosnia and Herzegovina youth organizations and participate in discussions.
The OSCE established its present Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina on 18 December 1995. In accordance with the General Framework Agreement for Peace (GFAP), the OSCE Mission activities are to: promote Democratization and the building of a vibrant civil society, foster the development of professional journalism and monitor the rights of journalists, monitor and advance the Human Rights situation, supervise the conduct of Elections, and encourage Regional Stabilization through arms control and confidence and security-building measures. The OSCE Mission continues to work closely with other international organizations and local institutions to implement the Dayton Peace Accords.
