Voting by "Tendered Ballot" in Bosnia and Herzegovina
SARAJEVO 10 November 2000
SARAJEVO, 10 November 2000 - The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina would like to inform the registered voters in BiH in which cases they can legitimately vote by tendered ballot. Some reasons why a voter might not be able to find his/her name on the final voter register are:
Voters in such situations should ask the Municipal Election Commission (MEC) where to go to cast a tendered ballot. Voters must bring a form of identification with a photograph in order to vote. After voting, the voters' personal data will be noted on the envelope where the tendered ballots are to be placed. The voters' personal data will be checked against the final voter register.
It the voter is found on the final voter register and that person has not voted already in some other polling station his or her ballots will be counted in the Counting Center.
For further information, please contact OSCE Spokesperson Luke Zahner at ++387/(0)33 292-449 or ++387/(0)66 144-311
- if the voter has moved after the last registration or voting;
- if the voter is registered to vote out-of-country, but is in country on Election Day; or
- if the Municipal Election Commission (MEC) was unable to assign the voter to a specific polling station.
