Final Voters Register delivered throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina

SARAJEVO, 10 October 2000 - Copies of the final voters register for the November elections have been delivered to political parties to assist them in their campaign activities in the run-up to the November elections. The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina is also in the process of distributing copies of the voter register to the municipal election commissions (MECs) throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The copies, which the parties will be receiving, are in CD-ROM format and have been organized by polling station. They list the name and gender of in-country voters, the municipality that they will be voting for, their polling station allocation, and their settlement code.

The OSCE established its present Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina on 18 December 1995. In accordance with the General Framework Agreement for Peace (GFAP), the OSCE Mission activities are to: promote Democratization and the building of a vibrant civil society, foster the development of professional journalism and monitor the rights of journalists, monitor and advance the Human Rights situation, supervise the conduct of Elections, and encourage Regional Stabilization through arms control and confidence and security-building measures. The OSCE Mission continues to work closely with other international organizations and local institutions to implement the Dayton Peace Accords.
