OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina condemns attack on Serbian Prime Minister
SARAJEVO, 12 July 2015 - Ambassador Jonathan Moore, Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, has strongly condemned the violent attack on Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic yesterday in Srebrenica.
“It was my great honor to lead the OSCE delegation to the 20th commemoration of the Srebrenica genocide. It was an insult to the victims and the survivors, as well as the guests that a small number of people chose to attack Serbia's Prime Minister during the funeral. I commend the mothers of Srebrenica, Mayor Durakovic, Reis Kavazovic, and Prime Minister Vucic for their efforts both during and after the attack to ensure proper respect and justice," said Moore.
“Despite the deep pain caused by the war, there are many inspiring examples of tolerance and co-existence throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. This attack will not change that. Much has been accomplished in Srebrenica itself, thanks to the efforts of the mayor and deputy mayor and many others. Twenty years after the genocide, as Serbia chairs the OSCE and Bosnia and Herzegovina chairs the Council of Europe, it is more important than ever to confirm and encourage those positive examples," said Moore.
“The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, through its extensive network of field offices, remains a partner of Srebrenica and all of Bosnia and Herzegovina every day of the year,” added Moore.
