OSCE Office trains women in Azerbaijan in strategic planning
BAKU, 15 March 2006 - An OSCE-supported workshop aimed at helping non-governmental organizations define their mission goals and translate their visions into mission statements and realistic objectives concluded today in Baku.
"NGOs must be responsive to a dynamic environment and should have a mission and vision statement," said Ingrid Gossinger, Democratization Officer of the OSCE Office in Baku. "Strategic planning is a process and programmatic priorities must be regularly evaluated and redefined."
More than 40 representatives from NGOs from Baku and other areas working in the field of women's rights, domestic violence and anti-trafficking participated in the workshop.
The two-day training was the first phase of an OSCE project aimed at improving the capacity of NGOs. The second part on advocacy skills training will be held in the end of the month.
The project is implemented in co-operation with the United Nations Development Fund for Women and the American Bar Association's Central European and Eurasian Law Initiative.
