OSCE supports entrepreneurship capacity-building workshops in Nakhchivan
Access to finance, tax regulations and cross border trades have been the main topics of discussions at the OSCE-supported workshops on entrepreneurship capacity-building in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) of Azerbaijan. The event, which took place from 6 to 8 November, was organized by the OSCE Office in Baku, in conjunction with the Entrepreneurs Confederation and Foreign Affairs Office of NAR.
Local and international experts trained some 20 entrepreneurs on financial literacy skills and the main sources of financing for small businesses. The participants also learned about the “single window” mechanism, which is a “one-stop-shop” for government services and also includes the online services for financial reporting, payment and application for state registration.
The last session of each workshop was devoted to a public policy dialogue between the entrepreneurs and government officials of NAR representing the Ministries of Finance, Labour and Social Protection of Population, Taxes, and Transport, the State Customs Committee and Central Bank, which gave the entrepreneurs a chance to ask questions and raise their concerns. They were also given detailed information on the conditions of government-provided concessional loans and subsidized agricultural services.
