OSCE concludes seminars for judges in combating human trafficking in Kazakhstan
The sixth and concluding OSCE-supported seminar in a series for judges on protecting the rights of child victims of human trafficking took place on 19 October 2016 in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Some 35 judges from across the country representing the board of appeals on criminal cases participated in the event held at the Justice Academy under the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan. The seminar concludes a series of capacity-building workshops which trained 210 judges in total on the international legal instruments to help prevent trafficking in human beings.
The series was co-organized by the OSCE Programme Office in Astana, the US Embassy in Astana and the Justice Academy. It is part of the OSCE Programme Office’s continuous efforts to support the host country in combating human trafficking and in implementing the OSCE Action Plan to Combat Trafficking in Human Beings.
