OSCE conducts training seminar on the socio-economic and cultural rights in the regions of Kazakhstan

This project is designed to promote better governance and human rights to ensure socio-economic development and democracy through training activities in Kokshetau (16-17 November 2015) and Taldykorgan (26-27 November 2015) on the UN International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR), to which Kazakhstan is a party since 2005. The training workshops will also help to improve the capacity of local authorities, business and non-governmental organizations in the application of the key principles stipulated in the ICESCR.
The project emphasises the importance of application of security based approach to promote co-operation and dialogue among the government agencies, civil society, the media and the public at large. It is part of the Office’s continued efforts to support the host country in promoting human rights, good governance and democratization.
