OSCE facilitates dialogue between judges and advocates on human rights protection in Ukraine

A summer school, which gathered 30 Ukrainian judges and advocates, focused on enhancement of their co-operation, skills and knowledge in protection of human rights in line with national laws and international principles, organized by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator, was held from 25 to 26 August 2015 in Lviv.
Prominent national and international experts on application of the European Convention on Human Rights and the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights delivered mini-lectures on international instruments of human rights protection and engaged participants into interactive discussions and dialogue.
Participants were divided into groups for interactive “moot court” exercise with exchange of roles, case-study and discussions facilitated by experts. The summer school was organised within the “Safeguarding Human Rights through Courts” Project, implemented by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine, financially supported by the Government of Canada.
