OSCE launches green technology workshops for women entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan
Some 25 women entrepreneurs from rural areas of the Akmola Region took part in the first in a series of three OSCE-supported training seminars on the application of green technologies in Arnasai, a village near Astana, on 13 April 2017.
The event was organized in close co-operation with the Coalition for Green Economy and Global Development. Participants learned about the application of green technologies in rural areas. Discussions focused on operational aspects of drip irrigation, solar greenhouses, organic agriculture, fertilizing with worms and a solar garden. Two follow-up workshops will be held, also in Arnasai, for women entrepreneurs from the rural areas of the Karaganda and Akmola Regions.
The event is part of the Programme Office’s long-standing efforts to promote green growth and sustainable development as well as support gender mainstreaming.
